Research Area:This research program investigates metal dyshomeostasis as a central pathogenic mechanism and therapeutic target in pulmonary fibrosis. Our work focuses on elucidating the complex regulatory networks that connect metal imbalance to aberrant cellular responses, with particular emphasis on how disrupted metal homeostasis drives fibrotic progression. The overarching objective is to identify novel therapeutic strategies that restore physiological metal balance and interrupt these pathogenic pathways. By targeting metal dyshomeostasis, we aim to halt fibrotic advancement while promoting endogenous lung repair mechanisms.
